Jon and Patxi are not just the would champions of Cesta Punta, but they are also incredibly talented in the pelote crafts and you can admire their art of creating the hand made chisteras (the long curved basket used for the game) and pelotas (the balls) in their small atelier in Bidart.

For those who would like to experience pelote to the maximum a special VIP Pilotari package , which includes also tickets to the professional game of Cesta Punta at Jai Alai, where you will be accompanied by the champions, is available.

There isn’t a village without its wall for playing this fascinating Basque game. From small kids to the gentlemen at their best age, you will always find someone playing the ball against the fronton ( the wall ). Pelote Basque is the fastest ball game in the world ( the speed of the ball can reach the speed of 300 km/h ) and it has several versions. The “main nue” ( bare-hand), game without equipment, where the ball is hit just by the hand,  the “Chistera” which is the name for the long curved basket (starting with a leather glove) which is hand made of different woods and reeds (hard & soft) for the games “Chistera” & “Cesta Punta and the “Pala” a heavy wooden bat, which is used to play several different types of games.
